Ganz Recalls Grumpy Cat Stuffed Toys Due to Choking Hazard

Ganz.GrumpyCatThree styles of Plush Grumpy Cat stuffed animal toys from Ganz are being recalled. The stuffed animals’ eyes can detach, posing a choking hazard to young children. No injuries have been reported, although Ganz has received six reports of eyes detaching from the toys.

The style of toys include an 8-inch Grumpy Cat in laying position, a 5-inch-long sitting Grumpy Cat, and a 4-inch Grumpy Cat key clip. They are multi-colored in white with dark brown, light brown, and gray fur material, and the key chains have a black plastic key clip at the top of Grumpy Cat’s head.

The recalled model and batch numbers are as follows:

Grumpy Cat 8-inch Laying: Model no. HGC12974, Batch 1 no. 86754, and Batch 2 no. 224861
Grumpy Cat 5-inch Sitting: Model no. HGC12982, Batch 1 no. 86754, and Batch 2 no. 224861
Grumpy Cat Key Clip: Model no. HGC12983, Batch 1 no. 86754, and Batch 2 no. 224861

All toys are labeled for kids ages 3 and older and have the model numbers printed on the sewn-in label located near the tail of the cat. Consumers should take the recalled toys away from children and contact Ganz for a free replacement or full refund.
