The clues were right in front of us in the initial announcement: Mattel’s Masters of the Universe (MOTU) is the first iconic toy brand to launch on the Cryptoys platform.

This fall, the famed characters from Eternia become “masters of the metaverse” as playable, digital toys within an NFT platform.

“The Masters of the Universe franchise is full of iconic characters and rich mythology that fans have been watching, playing with, and collecting for four decades,” says OnChain Studios CEO and Co-Founder Will Weinraub. “Many of us grew up with Masters of the Universe, which is why we felt it was the perfect property to launch first on the Cryptoys platform as we partner with Mattel to expand these beloved characters into the metaverse.”

Cryptoys collectibles can be unwrapped digitally and will live within the playable universe.

Visitors to Comic-Con International: San Diego (SDCC) will have a chance to pick up a Cryptoys poster in the Mattel booth on Friday, July 22 from 1-2 p.m. Additionally, the booth will host giveaways for MOTU Cryptoys lapel pins featuring He-Man, Battle Cat, and Skeletor.
