TOMY Prepares for 2017 Launch of Lightseekers

LightseekersTOMY International, the master toy licensee for the upcoming Lightseekers fantasy adventure role-playing game from PlayFusion, is preparing for a full-scale 2017 launch of the “toys to life” introduction.

The Lightseekers successful Kickstarter campaign drew 1,635 backers and raised $227,660 for the game and transmedia platform. The brand will fuse fantasy and reality powered by a proprietary technology platform that integrates video games, smart action figures with artificial intelligence, augmented reality, interactive trading cards, and more. TOMY will manufacture, distribute, and market the entire toy line including smart figures, accessories, trading cards, and more, and is in full-production mode preparing to launch early next year.

Lightseekers is a story-rich action adventure role player game built for mobile and tablet (available for Mac/PC in 2017) that fuses fantasy and reality through the FusionCore, a mini-computer embedded within each action figure and the “brains” behind the smart connected toys. The FusionCore allows the game to seamlessly connect to TOMY’s 7-inch articulated smart action figures. The character’s unique attributes, accomplishments, social circle and lineage are stored in perpetuity. The fame will automatically remember the last character played, enabling on-the-go play without figures in the state that it was when it was last connected. Any progress made is then updated when the FusionCore is reconnected.
Lightseekers also offers next level interchangeable accessories. Equipping a weapon or accessory onto an action figure will have an immediate effect in the game and vice versa, opening up new abilities and adventures. In addition, flight packs can be added to any hero, allowing players to magically control their in-game character by moving the toy.
TOMY will unveil its Lightseekers line at the North American International Toy Fair in New York City in February.
