Star Wars

It’s official — the classic Atari Star Wars is coming home.

Arcade1Up will release a new in-home arcade cabinet that uses the original arcade software for Atari Star Wars, and includes the iconic X-Wing pilot controller that gamers first experienced in the early ’80s. The cabinet includes the original arcade versions of Star Wars, The Empire Strikes Back, and Return of the Jedi.

Revealed at the Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3) this morning, Arcade1Up is showing off the new machine for hands-on play in booth No. 623. The cabinet will be available in November.

Atari Star Wars joins other new reveals, including the Head-to-Head Cocktail Table, which will launch this fall in two versions.  The Capcom Head-to-Head Cocktail Table will feature 12 titles including, Street Fighter II, Final Fight, and DarkStalkers while the Namco Head-to-Head Cocktail Table will feature eight titles including Pac-Man, Galaga and Dig Dug. Each table will retail at $499 and will be available later this year.
