The death of Britain’s longest-reigning monarch is causing ripples through the business community.
Brand Licensing Europe has revealed a change to its show hours due to the funeral of Queen Elizabeth II. The changes primarily affect a number of pre-show activities on Monday, Sept. 19 (also a UK bank holiday) and opening day, Sept. 20.
“We have done everything possible to reduce disruption to our visitors, exhibitors, and contractors, whilst also taking into account that many people in the UK do not wish to work on Monday, Sept. 19, in order to pay their respects to Her Majesty and be with their families on such a momentous occasion,” says Anna Knight, senior vice president of licensing at Informa Markets. “Monday is the busiest day for the set-up of the event, and we, therefore, need a few additional hours on Tuesday morning to enable exhibitors enough time to complete the set-up of their stands and to welcome you to the event.”
Exhibitor and contractor hours for Sept. 19 will be changed and communicated directly to any affected parties.
The new attendee hours are as follows:
- Sept. 20: Noon-6 p.m.
- Sept. 20: 8 a.m. to 6 p.m.
- Sept. 21: 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
The event schedule for Tuesday, Sept. 20 has been changed to the following:
- Orientation Session: Noon-12:20 p.m. (License Global Theatre)
- Show Tour: 12:20-12:40 p.m. (departing from the License Global Theatre; various locations)
- Speed Networking for Licensing U delegates: 2:45-3:15 p.m. (Wellness Lounge)
- French Community Drinks: 5:30-6 p.m. (BLE Bar)
- BLE Opening Night Drinks: 6-8 p.m. (BLE Bar and Motul Cafe)
Additional changes may be communicated in the coming days.
