These companies are taking the traditional “Legend of the Pickle” and putting its own feline spin on it.
Cepia, the toy company behind Cats vs Pickles and Kittens vs Gherkins, is teaming up with Curiosity Ink Media to reintroduce the popular Cats vs Pickles character Snowball on the company’s online holiday and e-commerce hub santa.com and launch new content. Fans will be able to purchase the exclusive item ahead of the December launch of the site’s Cats vs Pickles Advent Calendar, which will count down the days until Christmas via the How the Gherkins Stole Christmas tale.
Written and narrated by kids’ author Darren Farrell, beginning Dec. 1, a new animated chapter will be released each day leading up to the holiday in the dedicated kids’ section of santa.com. Each short will showcase the adventures of Snowball and the greedy Gherkins, who have made it their mission to spoil Christmas.

The Snowball bean makes its return after first being launched in limited release in 2021. Fans can order the character in time for the premiere of How the Gherkins Stole Christmas. Santa.com will also feature other Cepia brands, including limited-edition Cats vs Pickles holiday beans and jumbos, as well as new Dogs vs Squirls and Kittens vs Gherkins beans.
