ChizComm is ringing in the new year with a sweet new deal.

The growing company — recently acquired by Genius Brands International — will serve as the PR agency of record for Bazooka Candy Brands (BCB), a division of The Topps Co.

Under the new agreement, ChizComm will take the lead to boost iconic candy brands, including Ring Pop, Push Pop, Baby Bottle Pop, Juicy Drop, Totally Awesome, and Joe Bazooka’s personal favorite: Bazooka gum. The company’s media buying division, ChizComm Beacon Media, has been working with BCB since 2018.

“We are so thrilled to have earned the trust with Bazooka Candy Brands over the last two years to expand our partnership,” says Harold Chizick, president and CEO of ChizComm. “Their innovative approach to bringing entertainment to the confectionery business and bringing smiles to consumers’ faces is perfectly aligned with what we do. It diversifies ChizComm’s portfolio to be more inclusive of the family category outside toys and games, and we’re looking forward to working on this amazing portfolio of brands that spans across generations.”

Effective immediately, ChizComm will begin handling media relations and influencer marketing for BCB brands in addition to crafting integrated marketing campaigns that will intersect with consumer and industry events.

Bazooka Bubble Gum was first offered by Topps in 1947. The Bazooka division eventually grew beyond bubble gum into other confections that have remained a consistent fixture at retail in the decades since.
