If you’re gonna bring back a classic toy brand, why not do it with some style?
The Nacelle Co. is doing just that as it celebrates the pending release of the first products from its Very Important Toy line: Robo Force.
Last year, the diversified media company behind The Toys That Made Us (Netflix), A Toy Store Near You (Amazon Prime Video), and Icons Unearthed (Vice TV) acquired the rights to Robo Force and revealed plans for a relaunch of the former Ideal Toys brand. Now, the vessel containing the company’s first action figures has arrived on the West Coast and The Toy Book has your first look at the commercial for the line.
“The only thing as fun as making toys, is making toy commercials!” says Brian Volk-Weiss, founder and CEO of The Nacelle Co.
The 7.5-inch Robo Force action figures of Maxx 89 and Wrecker will be available at hundreds of independent specialty toy stores across the U.S. just in time for the holidays. Additionally, the deluxe, fully articulated figures — complete with ’80s-inspired suction cups on their feet — are available to order through Nacelle’s direct-to-consumer website. Both figures come packaged in a collector-friendly window box.

Since the Robo Force announcement last year, The Nacelle Co. has ramped up its efforts in the toy space. Industry vet David Vonner is leading the toy division which is aiming to target both kids and collectors with a mix of original intellectual property (IP) and the revival of some classic brands.
The company is rebooting Coleco’s Sectaurs and Revell’s Power Lords and is soliciting retail orders for two new kid-focused brands, Garden Surprise and Big Bad Battle Caps. Additionally, new products inspired by Marx Toys’ The Great Garloo and Big Loo are headed for retailers in the year ahead.
