The well-known New York toy store FAO Schwarz hosted author Megan Hess this past weekend for a book signing event to precede the release of her latest book and associated merchandise.
Megan Hess is the author and illustrator of the Claris “The Chicest Mouse in Paris” books. The little mouse visits all sorts of places in the series, the latest being New York. In Where is Claris in New York, Claris gets to see the iconic FAO Schwarz toy store, and even dresses in one of the toy soldier outfits. With additional visits to the Met and 5th Avenue, the book is a cute tour through the city.
To celebrate the new book, FAO Schwarz hosted a book signing with author Megan Hess on Feb. 11. Post-event this month, the store is offering a print gift that comes with any purchase of Claris the Mouse products totaling more than $60, featuring Claris strutting on a runway for New York Fashion Week. The toy store has a number of books and other Claris the Mouse products, such as plush toys, a lip gloss set, accessories, and more.
FAO Schwarz has a long history of event-hosting and partnerships, and recently celebrated its 160th anniversary. The toy store continues to work with authors, toymakers, and others to deliver a true experience to all kids and kidults that walk through its doors through in-store events product launches, and exclusive offerings.
