One of the latest additions to the Met Opera’s gift shop is the Hip Hop Hamilton Bear, an educational plush that teaches kids about one of America’s founding fathers.

Designed for kids ages 3 and up, the plush features a bear dressed in a colonial outfit complete with a ruffled collar, wild brown hair, and a blue jacket. When kids press the bear’s left foot, the plush dances and tells historical figure Alexander Hamilton’s story through the original song “Dream Big.” The plush has sold out online multiple times.

The song explores Hamilton’s history as an orphan who immigrated to the colonies, played a major part in the American Revolution, and went on to establish the U.S. banking system as we know it today.

The Hip Hop Hamilton Bear was created by Broadway performer and toy designer Lisa Carroll, who also leads Lisa’s Hip Hop Homeys, which launched a holiday-themed EP last fall.
