Mattel’s Hot Wheels has released a new product ahead of Autism Acceptance Month, which begins April 1. The Flippin Fast Die-Cast was designed specifically for open-ended, sensory play.

The new Flippin Fast Die-Cast car was inspired by the soothing experience of fidget spinner toys. Kids ages 3 and up can flip it, roll it forward and backward, and even play with it upside down. There is no right or wrong way to play with the orange-colored hot rod, giving it a broader range of motion, and giving kids more play options when compared to a typical Hot Wheels vehicle.

Autism Acceptance Month is an initiative spearheaded by the Autism Society, aimed to empower those with Autism to live fully, and to celebrate differences. According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, 1 in 36 children is Autistic, making the need for inclusion both prudent and pressing.

Besides its sensory play advantages, the Flippin Fast Die-Cast car has also been validated by the Autistic Self Advocacy Network. It is available now in stores at retailers nationwide for $1.25.
