Turns out, it is easy being green — or at least, easy to learn about it.

Licensing Expo and Products of Change (POC) are launching a sustainability agenda that includes turnkey education and product showcases for the upcoming trade show, scheduled for May 24-26. This collaboration intends to bring sustainability to the forefront of the licensing industry and highlight issues within the industry in order to bring out real change.

The sustainability-focused educational programming will be free for all registered event attendees and held in the Licensing U Theater, with topics spanning from newcomer education to sustainable marketing. Senior-level experts from POC, The Smiley Company, LEGO, Formula E, the Natural History Museum, Piping Hot, Greene, Beanstalk, and The Smurfs will be leading sustainability sessions.

“No matter the industry, environmental protection is an increasingly important value to customers and shareholders,” says Anna Knight, senior vice president of the Global Licensing Group. “Progress begins with industry-wide education — we are proud to partner with Products of Change to spotlight the many brands at Licensing Expo that are taking impressive steps toward eliminating waste and inequality.”

In addition to the sustainability educational program, POC selected brands to showcase their sustainable products and business approaches. Brands were chosen based on their sustainability and equality initiatives. These brand-led presentations will be held at the Sustainability Business Lounge and feature showcases from cross-category brands, with each focusing on a different area of expertise.

Lastly, Licensing Expo attendees can learn how to lead with intention to build purpose-driven licensing programs centered on social good. “The Upside of Licensing: Leading with Intention for Social Impact”, a program led by Nobel Peace Prize nominee Opal Lee and impact changemakers Anita Castellar and Genna Rosenberg, will be held in the Licensing U Theater.
