Mattel and Paramount have entered into a global, multi-year licensing agreement that positions Mattel as a key partner for the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (TMNT) brand, with a broad range of toys and games scheduled to launch beginning in 2027.

Under the agreement, Mattel will develop and market action figures, playsets and accessories, vehicles, games, collectibles, and role-play items inspired by the long-running franchise. The partnership also includes dedicated product lines tied to upcoming theatrical releases, including the animated sequel Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutant Mayhem 2, slated for 2027, and a separate untitled live-action and CG animation film planned for 2028.

“Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles’ rich history and timeless legacy have created a powerful connection with audiences around the world,” shares Josh Silverman, President, Global Products & Experiences, Paramount. “Extending the world of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles through so many different touch points is something we deeply value as we continue expanding the ways people can interact with and celebrate the world of these beloved brothers. We are pleased to embark on this next chapter with Mattel, whose ability to innovate on a global scale positions us to further grow the brand and engage fans across generations.”

The deal builds on the companies’ existing relationship across Paramount’s portfolio of brands and reflects continued investment in Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles as a multi-generational entertainment and consumer products franchise. Since its debut in 1984, the property has expanded across comic books, television, film, publishing, digital games, and live experiences, maintaining a strong presence at retail and generating sustained global sales.

For Mattel, the agreement expands its licensed brand lineup alongside owned franchises across action figures, vehicles, and collectibles, while leveraging its global retail and distribution infrastructure. For Paramount, the partnership supports continued franchise growth through coordinated product development aligned with major entertainment releases.

“Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles is one of the most successful entertainment franchises in history, and partnering with Paramount on this iconic property marks a significant moment for Mattel and the brand,” says Roberto Stanichi, EVP and Chief Global Brand Officer, Mattel. “The enduring power of the Turtles lies in their ability to evolve with each generation, and we are excited to bring these characters to life in new ways.”

The licensing agreement underscores the ongoing strength of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles at retail and sets the stage for a new wave of products designed to engage longtime fans and introduce the brand to the next generation of consumers.
