Oink Games is launching new card and board games later this year. Starting in October, the games launch in Europe, Japan, and the U.S.
Loop 40 is inspired by 13th Month 32nd Day by 6jizo; the goal is to get rid of all cards. The numbers loop from 1 to 40, and the first card played determines the “strength” of the round. On their turn, players can play a “weak” card to keep the round going or a strong one to win the round. The catch is that whoever wins a round has to take all of the cards from the play area. Players can wait and create “sequences,” like 37, 38, and 39, to play at once. Players also get penalty chips, including 1, 5, 10, 20, and 40, and can remove a chip by winning a round.
The cards feature geometric patterns for the numbers, which may highlight sequences. The game is designed for three or more players ages 8 and up.
In Eggsposed, players are secretly divided into Night Birds and Bright Birds. Night Birds try to sneak their egg tiles into the nest without the Bright Birds noticing. If Night Birds place three or more egg tiles into the nest without the Bright Birds noticing, they win. Eggsposed comes with nine egg tiles, eight dual-role cards, and wooden feather markers. The game is designed for three or more players ages 9 and up.
Loop 40 and Eggsposed will launch in Japan at Game Market Autumn Oct. 17-18, in Europe at Spiel Essen in Germany Oct. 22-25, and in the U.S. at PAX Unplugged in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, from Dec. 4-6, with advance sales at each event; general sales open Oct. 23.
