Mattel’s Board of Directors announces new leadership shifts, including the appointment of Roger Lynch as Chairman and Chief Executive Officer.
Succeeding Ynon Kreiz, Lynch will assume the role of Chairman effective Oct. 2. The Chief Executive Officer position will be in effect on or before Nov. 2. As Lynch steps into these roles, Kreiz will take a senior leadership position at another public company.

Lynch has served on Mattel’s board since 2018, contributing extensive leadership experience spanning media, technology, and consumer businesses. The newly appointed Chairman has also served as Chief Executive Officer of Condé Nast since 2019. Notable highlights in Lynch’s career include prior CEO roles at Pandora, Sling, Video Networks International, and Chello Broadband.
This leadership appointment follows a comprehensive succession planning process. As Kreiz steps down and Lynch moves into his new roles, Mattel will appoint current Board member Diana Ferguson as its new Independent Lead Director, Lynch’s prior role.
