Independent animation company Millimages is teaming up with Famosa brand PlaybyPlay for Molang plush.
Molang started as a character doodle by Korean illustrator Hye Ji Yoon. The brand has seen success since, with more than 712 million YouTube Kids views, an animated preschool series, and now, a new plush collection from licensing partner PlaybyPlay.
The new plush line, releasing in time for Christmas this year, will include a range of plush in different sizes available in Europe and Latin America. Attendees of this year’s Spielwarenmesse were able to sneak a preview of the new line. Millimages reports plush is already one of the brand’s highest-performing product categories. Molang has a large portfolio of existing licensed products, working with more than 80 licensees across the globe.
Famosa got its start in 1958 and was acquired by the Giochi Preziosi Group in 2019. “Partnering with Millimages for the Molang brand represents a significant milestone for Famosa and PlaybyPlay,” says José Miguel Toledo, CEO of Famosa. “This collaboration aligns perfectly with our commitment to delivering joyful and high-quality products to children and families across Europe and Latin America.”
The new line of plush will launch in Europe as well as Latin America later this year, in time for the holiday season. The new partnership aligns with Millimages’ overall goal to see the Molang brand expand its product offerings throughout the international industry.
