Spin Master is adding a new toy to its Primal Hatch line. Designed for kids ages 5 and up, the Primal Hatch Megalodon expands on the popular Primal Hatch Jurassic World T. Rex, which won Toy of the Year at the 2026 Toy of the Year awards (TOTY).

“Our design team has taken the magic of Primal Hatch Jurassic World T. Rex and created a new play experience with another famously popular prehistoric creature,” says David Voss, Spin Master’s Executive Vice President, Global Toy Design and Development. “With Primal Hatch Megalodon, we’ve leveled up the award-winning experience, introducing new, exciting play elements including a theatrical unboxing, the ability to re-hatch multiple times, and different ways for kids to interact with their creature. The reveal is simply jaw-dropping!”
The Primal Hatch Megalodon comes with a large megalodon egg that can be placed in the hatch tank. After placing the egg in the tank, kids add water, watch it fizz, and see the water turn red. When this happens, a 16-inch, roaring megalodon bursts from the egg. The toy can be reset and replayed.
The toy debuted at the Toy Fair New York earlier this year; it has earned more than 4 million views on TikTok.
