The 50th anniversary of Sesame Street continues with a new wave of product collaborations unveiled this morning by Sesame Workshop.
The nonprofit organization behind Sesame Street debuted the new partnerships alongside a collection of Fun in the Sun videos on the Sesame Street YouTube channel, sponsored by Blue Lizard Australian Sunscreen. The videos feature kid-favorite characters such as Elmo, Cookie Monster, and Abby Cadabby as they model healthy summer habits by applying sunscreen, wearing protective clothing, and staying hydrated on hot days.
Blue Lizard launched an exclusive line of Sesame Street-branded sunscreen products featuring color-changing Smart Bottle and Smart Cap tubes in which the characters — Elmo for baby, Cookie Monster for kids — change colors in harmful UV light.
“Summer is a great opportunity for families to enjoy the outdoors and spend extra time together,” says Gabriela Arenas, vice president of licensing, North America, Sesame Workshop. “We’re pleased to collaborate with our partners on new content, products, and resources that will keep families happy and healthy through all their summertime adventures – with a little help from their Sesame Street friends.”
