Today, Sept. 27, Sesame Workshop has promoted Samantha Maltin from chief marketing officer to executive vice president and CMO.
The nonprofit media and educational organization behind Sesame Street has expanded Maltin’s responsibilities to include strategic communications, events, and archives. Maltin will report to Sesame Workshop President Sherrie Westin, focusing on elevating the nonprofit’s brand and mission while growing impact and revenue.
With the promotion, Maltin will maintain her CMO portfolio. She will continue to focus on brand strategy and consumer engagement, brand creative, and business and partnership development in the entertainment industry.
Over the last 20 years, Maltin has been a key player in the entertainment industry, working as a partner at Known (formerly Schireson Associates) leading brand marketing. Prior to that, she worked on marketing at leading companies such as A+E Networks and Viacom/Nickelodeon. During her time at Sesame Workshop, Maltin has developed a new global aesthetic for Sesame Street in celebration of Sesame Street‘s 50th anniversary. She has also improved data strategy and infrastructure capabilities, advanced audience development, and increased the organization’s social media presence.
