Spin Master, the owner of Rubik’s Cube, is launching a year-long campaign to celebrate 50 years of Rubik’s Cube. The Make Your Move campaign is designed to inspire new problem solvers and invite long-time fans to try solving puzzles again. Spin Master will launch new cubes, board games, and a mobile game inspired by the iconic toy.

“The Rubik’s Cube is an iconic puzzle that has permeated pop culture, captivating millions of curious minds for generations,” says Doug Wadleigh, Spin Master’s President of Toys. “As we celebrate this remarkable milestone, we will honor the Rubik’s Cube’s enduring global impact, inspiring new generations to explore the cube and encouraging past generations to rediscover it.”

The Rubik’s 50th Anniversary Retro Cube, with the original Rubik’s logo and classic-colored stickers, will be available soon for $14.99. In March, the Rubik’s Sensory Cube, featuring tactile shapes for each color of the 3×3 cube and braille on the packaging, will launch for $12.99 in partnership with the National Federation of the Blind. The Rubik’s Gridlock Board Game ($14.99) will also be available in March.

The Rubik’s Connected X ($39.99) will be available in June. Users can connect with friends and family members through the app to see who is the faster puzzle solver with the Bluetooth-enabled 3×3 cube. They can also learn and improve their skills by tracking, recording, and timing their results.

For kids who love superheroes like Iron Man, Spider-Man, and Black Panther, the Rubik’s Cubers ($14.99) can serve as an introduction to the iconic toy. Kids can collect, solve, and display these puzzle characters in July.

Finally, in celebration of 50 years, the Rubik’s 3×3 Speed Cube ($14.99) will launch in August. This cube has sticker-less panels, internal magnets for smooth movements, and adjustable tensions for a customized cube experience.

Spin Master also has several collaborations lined up. Rubik’s Cube toys inspired by Hello Kitty, Barbie, Stranger Things, Wednesday Addams, The Grateful Dead, Heelys, Tetris, and U.S. Soccer will be available. Collaborations with Beatles Yellow Submarine, Albert Einstein, Mr. Brainwash, Levi’s, NBALAB, Mercedes Benz, and G Fuel can be expected as well.

Rubik’s Match, a mobile game with a fresh 3D take on match-3 games, will be available later this year. Developed by Nordlight Games, Spin Master’s Stockholm-based digital game studio, the mobile game combines puzzle-solving, building, and personalization.

“The Rubik’s Cube is a piece of art,” says Professor Erno Rubik says. “It comes to life when we attempt to discover our own solutions to the vast complexity of the challenge. It speaks to the universal values in human nature: curiosity, perseverance, and ingenuity. Recognizing the Cube’s 50th anniversary is a celebration of these eternal values.”
