Following a successful premiere on Netflix, Spin Master‘s Unicorn Academy is looking toward new licensing opportunities with WildBrain CPLG.

WildBrain CPLG, a leader in licensing agencies, will represent the animated series in the Nordics, Iberia, Italy, and Benelux. The new agreement includes location-based entertainment (LBE) rights and will have WildBrain seeking new partnerships for Unicorn Academy in a variety of product categories, such as apparel, accessories, home goods, beauty, paper goods, and more.

Unicorn Academy follows Sophie and her friends as they navigate bonding with their unicorns, friendship, and school at the Unicorn Academy. The Netflix original animated series, aimed at kids ages 5-11, premiered last November and airs in more than 190 territories in over 30 languages.

Expanding our successful relationship with Spin Master by adding the magical Unicorn Academy to our slate highlights the success of our approach—using global expertise at a local level to offer bespoke consumer programmes to grow brands. The addition of LBE rights is particularly exciting as there are significant opportunities for this area of business in 2024 and beyond."
Meike de Vaere, Vice President, Partnerships and Business Development, WildBrain CPLG

The series is based on the original books of the same name by author Julie Skyes. Going from books to TV and beyond, the brand has a movie, an appearance in the Roblox game Wild Horse Islands, and plans for more releases throughout 2024.

WildBrain will complement these plans with its own goals of securing new licensing agreements for the Unicorn Academy brand. Other companies WildBrain has worked with include SEGA, Crayola, Moose Toys, and more.
