Wizards of the Coast brought a massive lineup to Gen Con this year.

The Hasbro subsidiary gave Magic: The Gathering fans multiple updates at the Indianapolis gaming convention this year, including news about collaborations, new games, returning favorites, and more as the trading card game celebrates its 30th anniversary.

“Magic has evolved in numerous ways in the last 30 years,” says Bill Rose, Global Play Lead for Magic: The Gathering at Wizards of the Coast. “Our designers continue to create new and thematic mechanics, we’ve adapted the game to support fan-created formats of play, and we continue to welcome new players into the Magic community through our Universes Beyond collaborations. One thing that has remained constant throughout our 30-year history is how much our players love Magic. As we look to the future, one of our guiding principles is to continue to curate new and memorable gameplay experiences, whether you’ve been playing Magic for a couple of months, years, decades, or anything in between.”

Wizards discussed its last four releases for this year: Wilds of Eldraine, a new storybook setting for a multi-year arc; Magic: The Gathering – Doctor Who, which features four commander decks spanning 60 years; The Lost Caverns of Ixalan, a collaboration based on the setting and characters of the six Jurassic Park and Jurassic World movies; and a new Secret Lair commander deck: Angels: They’re Just Like Us but Cooler and with Wings, which goes on sale starting Aug. 10 for a limited run.

The company is also releasing three new takes on the Ravnica plane, which was first released in 2005. Ravnica Remastered features updated art and fan-favorite features and Ravnica: Clue Edition is a standalone game that combines mystery solving with fantastical adventures. Murders at Karlov Manor also dives into mystery with puzzles, secret identities, clues, and more.

Other upcoming releases include Fallout-themed commander decks; a western fantasy called Outlaws of Thunder Junction; a comprehensive Assassin’s Creed set featuring all the Assassin’s Creed games; Modern Horizons 3; a cozy fantasy quest featuring anthropomorphic animals called Bloomburrow; Duskmourn: House of Horror, which is inspired by ‘80s horror movies; Innistrad Remastered; and a Final Fantasy tentpole booster that can also be played online.

Wizards also hinted at a lineup of games that are further on the horizon for 2025 and 2026. These releases, which currently don’t have official names, include sequels, expansions, and new Magic: The Gathering games.
