In response to shifting toy industry dynamics, the Western Toy and Hobby Representatives Association (WTHRA) says it will “pause” ToyFest in 2026 to reevaluate and reimagine the event for 2027 and beyond.
“Given the current market conditions, and feedback we have received from customers, sales representatives and vendors alike, I think the Board made a prudent decision to skip a year to reassess our show,” says WTHRA Chairman, John Hansen. “WTHRA/ToyFest has shown the ability to pivot to stay relevant and beneficial for over six decades. I’m confident that WTHRA will again show its ability to host a meaningful and successful event in 2027.”
Founded in 1961, ToyFest has evolved from its beginnings at the Hollywood Biltmore Hotel to its current home in Las Vegas, with previous stops in Pasadena, Pomona, and Long Beach, California. WTHRA says it remains committed to its mission of serving retailers and manufacturers by exploring new directions shaped by community input.
While ToyFest takes a break, WTHRA will continue hosting its annual Game Days, including Portland, Oregon, on August 25 and Albany, California, on August 27. Retailers are encouraged to register by June 30 to receive early bird pricing. Vendors must also submit entries by June 30 due to limited space.
Suggestions for the future of ToyFest are welcome via Board Members, Officers, or by email at info@toyfestUS.com.
“The ToyFest Slate of Officers and I can’t wait for 2027 as we transform ToyFest into its next best version of itself,” adds ToyFest President Sandy Lepire.
