The seventh annual Hot Wheels Legends Tour, presented by Mattel and Mobil 1, begins next month in Miami, Florida. During the tour, car builders will compete to have their custom car build immortalized as a 1:64 scale die-cast Hot Wheels car. The chosen car will join the Garage of Legends life-size Hot Wheels vehicles.

The car tour will travel to 13 counties, including new stops in Columbia and the United Arab Emirates (UAE). The 2024 Hot Wheels Legends Tour begins in Miami on May 11 at a live event, in partnership with Walmart, and stops at Walmart locations in Georgia, North Carolina, Illinois, Texas, and more. The tour will conclude in November with a virtual Global Semi Final and Global Grand Finale.

The U.S. tour dates will feature interactive analysis and coverage from the site hosts. Each stop will include activities such as the Hot Wheels Garage of Legends life-size cars, spaces where kids can play with Hot Wheels toys, and Hot Wheels die-cast displays that will feature coveted premium and collector cars. Special edition Hot Wheels Legends products will also be available exclusively at select Walmart stores or at walmart.com.

New to the 2024 tour, and in celebration of Hot Wheels and Walmart’s partnership, U.S. car enthusiasts can submit their projects and participate in the tour virtually. Hot Wheels and Walmart Design Teams will select one online submission to move on to the Global Semi-Finale in November.

The Hot Wheel Legends winning car is judged on authenticity, creativity, and garage spirit. The judges are searching for extreme, on-trend, and relevant vehicles to join the brand’s Garage of Legends. They will consider the builder’s overall creativity and how the project stands out from the crowd. Extra points will be awarded when it is evident that early mornings, late nights, determination, and grit were put into the project.

Previous champions include the inaugural 2 JetZ in 2018, the 1969 Volvo P1800 Gasser in 2021, the 1990 Mazda MX-5 roadster nicknamed “Chimera” in 2023, and more.

“The dedication and enthusiasm we see at Hot Wheels Legends Tour events around the world keep us motivated to build on the tour every year to find more ways to celebrate custom car builders and their drive to become legendary,” says Ted Wu, Senior Vice President and Global Head of Design for Vehicles at Mattel. “This year, the tour will visit Columbia and the UAE for the first time, and we can’t wait to see these unique car communities represented at this year’s Global Semi-Final in November.”

Car builders can enter their design in the 2024 Hot Wheels Legends Tour, register, and find the complete list of tour dates at creations.mattel.com.
