Asmodee has launched asmodeeaccess.com, a free online hub designed to make tabletop games more accessible to players with different needs.

The launch marks an expansion of Asmodee Access+, an initiative that began as a range of adapted games for people living with cognitive disabilities, including dementia, autism, and learning disabilities. The program is now being extended across Asmodee’s creative studios, introducing accessibility guidelines intended to shape how games are designed and played.

Developed with researchers, healthcare professionals, and accessibility specialists, the initiative aims to reduce motor, sensory, and cognitive barriers to tabletop gaming. Its approach focuses on improving the visual clarity of game components, ease of handling, rule comprehension, and overall playing conditions.

The website offers resources for players, families, teachers, caregivers, and healthcare professionals, including information about games’ accessibility features and the skills supported by their mechanics. Visitors can also access guides for adapting gameplay to participants’ needs, printable resources, accessory recommendations, and articles connecting tabletop gaming with research.

“With Asmodee Access+, we want to make accessibility a shared practice that drives change across our industry,” says Arianna Ryan, Asmodee’s Chief People Officer, EVP Sustainability. “Our vision is to celebrate all players with shared experiences, and this new hub reflects that ambition: to help more people find their place around the table and share the joy of playing.”

The expansion comes as research highlights the importance of accessibility in tabletop gaming. A study surveying more than 1,500 board game players found that more than 25% reported mental health or neurodiversity conditions that may involve specific accessibility needs. Additional research has explored the role of tabletop games in supporting social development, communication, and connection.

Through Asmodee Access+, the company aims to incorporate accessibility into game development while providing practical resources to support play at home, in classrooms, and in care settings.

The resources are available now at asmodeeaccess.com.
