Following the resounding box-office success of Barbie The Movie, Mattel continues introducing new products inspired by the film.

The expanded collection includes dolls sporting outfits directly inspired by those seen in the film. Barbie: The Movie saw huge success in theaters, raking in more than $1 billion at the global box office, a record for a film directed by a woman. Research from Euromonitor International indicated an expectation to see the doll industry reach $14 billion by 2027, due in part to the movie’s release.

The new dolls include Barbie and Ken in their inline skating outfits, Barbie in a pink power jumpsuit, Ken wearing a faux fur coat and fringe vest, and Ken in a full western fit. Weird Barbie, played by Kate McKinnon in the movie, is also getting her own doll. Weird Barbie represents a Barbie that was played with too roughly, a nostalgic thought for many that owned the dolls in childhood.

Barbie continues to be the cultural event of the summer, and as we chart Mattel’s path forward, she will continue to serve as an icon of empowerment and inspiration for generations to come.

Mattel also has plans for a 4-Pack Hot Wheels set featuring Barbie’s Corvette in a number of styles. Each car is 1:64 scale and has a metal body and chassis. The set will include a yellow Corvette based on Ken’s car Barbie: The Movie.

This newest round of Barbie goods follows an initial June launch of toys inspired by the movie from brands such as UNO, Fisher-Price, MEGA, and more. The new merch is available for presale now at a number of retailers as well as Mattel’s Mattel Creations shop page.
