While Fisher-Price is known for its focus on early childhood stages, the company is thinking ahead to college and is now giving families an opportunity to turn everyday spending into 529 education savings.

Mattel’s Fisher-Price launched the Fisher-Price College Savings Mastercard in partnership with Concerto Card Company, a platform that develops co-branded credit programs, and Gift of College, a gift registry that makes it easy to open new 529 accounts and accept contributions. The credit card offers features designed to help families save for qualifying expenses related to their children’s education by transferring rewards into a 529 account, or college savings plan.

Some features of the card include 2% back on purchases when cardholders deposit rewards into a 529 savings account, a $50 bonus reward when cardholders spend $250 in purchases in the first three months and deposit rewards into a 529 account, and more.

The new credit card furthers Fisher-Price’s commitment to enriching the first five years of childhood for families by helping to make sure planning today can benefit the child’s future.

“For more than 90 years, Fisher-Price has supported families at every age and stage of early childhood—from little moments to big milestones,” says Chuck Scothon, Senior Vice President and General Manager of Fisher-Price. “With the new Fisher-Price College Savings Mastercard, we’re continuing to build on our promise to ensure every child has a bright future by helping families start saving for school early on without impacting their day-to-day lives. As parents and loved ones begin turning their everyday spending into 529 education savings, they’ll discover it’s never been easier to make a lasting impact on a child’s future.”

Cardholders with existing 529 accounts will be able to link them to their Fisher-Price College Savings Mastercard upon signing up. To learn more visit fpcollegesavings.com.
