It’s a dream come true: you can move to Sesame Street — with help from Outright Games. Starting today, Sesame Street: Friends & Fun invites kids ages 3 and up, and their families, to join a narrative adventure through the iconic neighborhood and help the community prepare for a celebration.
“One of the most special things about Sesame Street is that it has always felt like a place where everyone is welcome,” shares Nazaret Guerrero, Producer at Outright Games. “No matter who you are, there is a place for you in the neighborhood, a friend excited to meet you, and a way for you to take part.”
“That became the heart of the game’s concept,” Guerrero explains. “As [young players] meet their neighbors, personalize their home, and help prepare for the Big Block Party, they discover how rewarding it can be to work together, support their friends, and contribute to something shared.”
Launching today, the game is designed specifically for preschool players and families, blending interactive storytelling, exploration, and educational play in a safe and welcoming environment.
Players can create and customize their own character, personalize their home, explore the neighborhood, meet familiar faces, and take part in more than 50 story activities and minigames. “The Big Block Party gives young players a clear goal while naturally bringing the game’s different stories and activities together,” Guerrero says.
We wanted to capture the warmth and humor that generations have grown up with, alongside the wonderful idea that a community becomes stronger when people look out for one another.
Throughout the adventure, players can spend time with beloved Sesame Street characters, including Elmo, Grover, Cookie Monster, Abby Cadabby, Big Bird, and Tango.
“After more than 50 years of Sesame Street, each resident has such a distinct and well-established personality that we had a wonderfully rich foundation to work from,” Guerrero notes. “It was a delight finding ways to translate those qualities into playful interactions, and the talented voice cast also played an enormous part in bringing each character’s familiar warmth, humor, and magic to life.” Each character introduces different activities, including cooking alongside Cookie Monster, helping Abby with magical tasks, and tidying up around the neighborhood.

The neighborhood serves as the game’s central hub and features familiar locations, including the Community Garden, Bandstand, Farm, and other neighborhood spaces. Outright Games worked closely with Sesame Workshop, the global non-profit behind Sesame Street, to bring the neighborhood to life.
“For so many families, these are places they have known and loved for years,” Guerrero says. Incorporating the colors and details of recognizable landmarks was important to the team, but so too was how someone might navigate the neighborhood. “We wanted the neighborhood to feel like more than a backdrop: welcoming, playful, and alive with things to do — even if the occasional chicken gets in the way!”
As players prepare for the Big Block Party, the game encourages creativity, learning, and fun through its activities and minigames. “There is a lovely sense of anticipation as the celebration gradually comes together around them,” Guerrero says. “Most importantly, players can see the difference their help is making across the neighborhood, helping them feel that this is their party too.”
Intuitive controls and positive reinforcement are designed to enhance the experience for younger audiences, while two-player local co-op lets families enjoy the adventure together. “A parent or older sibling can offer gentle guidance while still allowing the child to lead, and two young players can cooperate and learn together,” Guerrero explains. “It encourages conversation, teamwork, and shared problem-solving, while making the experience accessible to children who may be playing a video game for the first time.”
“We hope the entire experience feels full of joy,” Guerrero shares. “Most of all, we can’t wait to see families laughing, exploring, and helping their neighbors together, and finishing the adventure feeling like they truly belong. We’re so excited to welcome everyone home.
