Like many industry leaders, Mattel subsidiary Fisher-Price is making an effort to develop more sustainable toys.

Fisher-Price is known for its toys supporting childhood milestones, offering everything from baby toys to playsets for toddlers. The company is hopping on the eco-friendly train with a new line of plush. The Planet Friends line features animal toys for babies that come in FSC-certified packaging and are made from between 80-90% post-consumer recycled plastic. The toys are all inspired by animals highlighted by the World Wildlife Fund.

The All Ears Lovey sensory toy comes with a satin vest and huge ears, both designed to provide sensory play to babies. The variety of colors and textures are made to keep babies interested. The Spotting Fun Snow Leopard is full of activities for little ones. Kids can pull the legs, crinkle the feet, and feel the soft satiny fabrics.

Ready for tummy time, the Panda Play Mat is designed for engaging play. The paws can function to prop up the face panel or be used to roll up the mat for travel. The mat comes with a crinkle toy and a self-discovery mirror. The jingly turtle will keep babies interested with its pull-and-release handle and seashell teether. The toy easily attaches to strollers, diaper bags, and more, ready for on-the-go play.

The new Fisher-Price Planet Friends line is available now at Amazon. Mattel hopes to attract customers with eco-friendliness in mind, reporting that 72% of parents it surveyed claim that sustainability influences their day-to-day decision-making. The Fisher-Price brand has committed itself to using 100% recycled, recyclable, or bio-based plastic materials in products by 2030.
