Sinking Ship Entertainment (SSE) has inked a plush deal with educational toy company Safari based on the character Greybeard from Apple TV+’s Jane.
Jane, which released earlier this year and was produced in association with the Jane Goodall Institute, is a live-action/CG-hybrid kids and family series that follows nine-year-old Jane Garcia as she embarks on fantastical adventures with her friends to help save wild animals around the world.
In the series, Greybeard is a CG-rendered chimpanzee who is both Jane’s stuffy toy and imaginary friend, offering comedic relief and companionship. Safari will be developing a variety of sizes of the plush based on the character, aiming to be on retail shelves next year.

Jane was recently nominated for the prestigious Television Critics Association Awards for Outstanding Achievement in Family Programming, and nominated for three Directors Guild of Canada Awards. In April, Apple TV+ and SSE launched the museum exhibit based on Jane, entitled “Jane’s Endangered Animal Experience,” at the California Science Center in Los Angeles and the Carnegie Museum of Natural History in Pittsburgh, produced in partnership with Flying Fish Exhibits. In addition, the book Jane’s Endangered Animal Guide, released this June with Mango Publishing.
