The LEGO Group is continuing to target the kidult market with a new set designed for builders ages 18 and up, celebrating the 100th anniversary of the K2 Telephone Box.

The Red London Telephone Box is the latest of the LEGO Ideas sets. LEGO Ideas is a platform that invites fans to submit their own LEGO builds in hopes that they get turned into actual sets sold by the company. Celebrating a well-known symbol of London, this newest set will be available next month.

The LEGO Ideas Red London Telephone Box set is a 1,460-piece build made for adult fans of the brand. The set features a K2 Telephone Box, a lamppost, flowerpots, and a cobbled street. The phone box can light up with just a press of the roof and includes the builder’s choice of either a vintage rotary phone or a phone inspired by 1990s models. The set also includes a mobile phone stand.

The K2 red phone box is seen as a British cultural icon throughout the world, and we’re delighted that The LEGO Group is celebrating the 100th anniversary of its design with this model. Fast forward to today and whilst communications have rapidly evolved, the iconic K2 continues to play a part in communities through BT’s Adopt a Kiosk scheme.
— Michael Smy, Head of Street at BT Group

This set was designed by John Cramp, a local from Leicester, England. The set honors the original K2 Telephone Box, which got its start in 1924 when the K2 design by architect Sir Giles Gilbert Scott won a competition and solidified the iconic red box’s place in culture for the next hundred years.

The LEGO Ideas Red London Telephone Box set will be available to LEGO Insiders starting Feb. 1 and at other retail and online platforms on Feb. 4 for $114.99.
