A global pandemic can’t — and won’t — stop kids’ creative minds.
This year, Magformers will join Mattel, ASTRA, and Scholastic in sponsoring the 15th annual Chicago Toy & Game Group‘s (ChiTAG) Young Inventor Challenge. Designed to be a platform for creative kids, the Young Inventor Challenge gives kids ages 6-18 a chance to produce and pitch original inventions to major toy companies and industry professionals, members of the media, general public, and more. The Magformers marketing team, including staff from both the U.S. and South Korea, will be judges for the competition.
“The Young Inventor Challenge is an inspiring challenge to be a part of. You would not believe some of the products and inventions these young kids come up with. This competition goes along with our company’s mission of providing the tools to encourage creative and hands-on learning, which is why we are so proud to support the Young Inventor Spring Challenge and look forward to seeing all the creative entries this year,” says Chris Tidwell, CEO of Magformers.
The competition is designed to inspire the next generation of toy inventors while also allowing them to connect with toy industry professionals. ChiTAG also offers free resources to kids to assist with kids’ inventions and ideas, including a Design Guide, which walks kids through the design process from start to finish, and a Student Resources page, which provides inspirational videos and articles.
The Spring Young Inventor Challenge will run from April 22-June 15, 2020. To learn more about the Young Inventor Spring Challenge, visit chitag.com/yic.
