Crossbows & Catapults

Following a Kickstarter campaign that generated just under $1 million in backer support, Crossbows & Catapults is headed back to retail next year.

Goliath partnered with Restoration Games for a full relaunch of the crossbow-firing, catapult-launching action game that has become a cult classic since its debut in 1983. In the game, players face off to defend their castles while attempting to knock down their opponent’s build.

Current trends show that appreciation for vintage novelties continues to grow. There is no better way to show our appreciation to our fans than by introducing them to a piece of our childhood that brought us so much joy during simpler times.”
Brian Weiss, President of North America at Goliath

Restoration Games continues its mission to resurrect games from decades past by giving Crossbows & Catapults a premium update with extra castle components, re-engineered artillery pieces, and additional game pieces and figurines. The team says that the game will maintain the integrity of the original while providing an upgraded experience for new players.

“We’ve made it our mission to re-envision antique games and reintroduce them to modern gamers,” says Suzanne Sheldon, Head of Marketing and Master of Fireworks at Restoration Games. “Crossbows & Catapults has been one of the most requested games from fans and we could not be more ecstatic to have the collaborative support of Goliath as this endeavor is brought to fruition.”

Retailers around the world will begin stocking the new version of Crossbows & Catapults from Goliath and Restoration Games in the fall of 2024.
