Mattel Creations is continuing its fusion of toys and art with the debut of MEGA Collabs, a new collection that pairs iconic artists with MEGA Builders to create exclusive collectibles.

MEGA Collabs will debut with a project from graphic artist and collectible pioneer Frank Kozik.

Kozik rose to fame in the early ’90s by creating unique concert posters for rock acts including Nirvana, Melvins, Gwar, the Beastie Boys, and more.

The MEGA Collabs Labbit is a block construction kit that lets builders craft their own version of Kozik’s Labbit, a rabbit-like creature created in the ’90s and used in his art. Over the years, a Labbit fandom has been established and designer toy enthusiasts have collected variants released by companies such as Kidrobot.

“Labbit was originally inspired by the shift into creating three-dimensional art in the ’90s, and the collaboration with MEGA now brings it to the buildable construction medium for the first time,” says Kozik. “By partnering with MEGA designers to make a build-your-own Labbit, we created a new experience for fans and expanded the play value.”

Fans looking to get their hands on the MEGA Collabs Labbit can do so beginning Friday, Nov.13 at 12 p.m. ET on the Mattel Creations website.
