Who’s better suited to designing toys than a kid that plays with them?
Hasbro’s Potato Heads are timeless toys, and with the help of Mighty Jaxx, it’s bringing young Stella Peaches’ Potato Head design to an actual collectible.
9-year-old Stella is the daughter of Stikki Peaches, a well-known graffiti and print artist with celebrity fans, such as Lady Gaga. Stella’s Potato Head will be available at a much more general consumer price than Stikki’s works — Mighty Jaxx is selling the collectible on its website for $159.
The 8-inch-tall collectible Potato Head by Stella Peaches is currently available for purchase with proceeds from sales going toward a charity supporting underprivileged children. The toy has a white outfit covered with paint splatter, white glasses, and two differently colored crowns.
Other toy companies have hopped on the trend of having kids assist with designing as well. LEGO has a number of sets designed originally by younger fans entering contests the company hosts, such as the LEGO Ideas Football Set designed by 16-year-old Donát Fehérvári.
Though adults will always be the primary toy designers, there is a bit of whimsy for consumers seeing a toy designed by a kid who’s the same age that would play with it, and it’s likely to continue to see use as an occasional release.
