Another animated family from the 1980s is back: The Raccoons.

The Canadian series that aired on the Disney Channel in the U.S. is being reimagined for a new generation by series creator Kevin Gillis with sights set on a full licensing program to go with it. In the UK, The Point.1888 has been tapped to serve as the exclusive brand licensing agent for The Raccoons.

“The Raccoons have had the honor of having a strong and environmentally-conscious fan following in the UK since Bert Raccoon first moved to the Evergreen Forest,” says Gillis, president of Run With Us Productions. As we recognize the growing critical importance of understanding our fragile global ecosystem, we look forward to working with The Point 1888 in connecting with and supporting our many loyal and invaluable fans!”

According to Olivia Wiggett, associate commercial manager at The Point.1888, the agency is adding partnerships with nature and forest-focused charities and other organizations to The Raccoons’ licensing strategy beyond its cross-category consumer goods plans.

The Point.1888 is developing products and marketing plans and will be engaging in talks with potential licensees and retailers in the coming weeks.
