It’s time to drop the Justin Timberlake memes because it’s officially May.

With another month behind us, The Toy Book is hitting the rewind button to look back at some of the hottest stories of April 2024, as chosen by you, the readers.

I’m a bit of a broken record on this one, but since its release on Feb. 26, our 2024 edition of The BIG Toy Book — the kick-off to our 40th volume — continues to draw major interest and still ranks among the most-read items on the site. But, our 2024 Licensing & Entertainment Issue drops on May 21 at Licensing Expo and should rocket to the top of the charts to dethrone it in a matter of hours.

As always, in the interest of newness, only stories published in the previous month qualify for an official spot in the Toy Book Top 10 as determined by overall traffic. This month was a close race, with stories in the Top 10 separated, in some cases, by just a few clicks with honorable mentions for a handful of stories that nearly made the Top 10, including Abacus Brands’ recent deal with Pixicade, ex-Hasbro VP Michael Kelley’s launch of Extensive Enterprises, and LEGO’s Despicable Me 4 line. In the end, it was a massive month for the toy titans at Hasbro and Mattel as both companies dominated the charts amid Q1 earnings season.

Check out this month’s Top 10 and some hot products below and stay on the #pulseofplay!
