The Toy Insider has released its 2026 Spring & Summer Gift Guide, featuring more than 300 toys and games from more than 130 manufacturers, marking the largest seasonal guide in the outlet’s history. The Toy Insider is a sister publication to The Toy Book.
The guide reflects continued demand for value-driven purchasing, with more than 80% of featured products priced under $50 and more than 170 items under $25. Categories span outdoor and active play, travel-friendly toys, water play, games, arts and crafts, and educational products, offering a broad view of seasonal trends across the toy industry.
According to Editor-in-Chief Ali Mierzejewski, the 2026 selection prioritizes affordability and versatility as families navigate ongoing cost pressures while seeking engaging play experiences for summer.
“In today’s cost-conscious climate, every toy purchase feels more intentional, as families juggle the everyday reality of keeping their kids happy while also staying mindful of rising costs,” says Mierzejewski. “All the toys in our Spring & Summer Gift Guide are expert-approved and thoughtfully curated to deliver maximum fun, so families can skip the stress and feel confident in every toy they choose, no matter their budget or how they spend their summer — whether it’s at home or on the go.”
Licensed entertainment and cultural moments are also influencing product selection this year, with items tied to properties such as Bluey, Toy Story 5, and The Super Mario Galaxy Movie, alongside broader themes connected to the FIFA World Cup and the upcoming America 250 celebration.
The guide is organized by category and age range to streamline retail discovery and consumer navigation. Featured product segments include budget-friendly toys, outdoor and water play, travel items, educational activities, and family games.
The 2026 Spring & Summer Gift Guide is powered by Energizer, which serves as the exclusive battery partner. Products requiring batteries have a dedicated icon to support purchase readiness at retail.
