The world’s first permanent immersive restaurant based on Five Nights at Freddy’s will open at American Dream in 2027.
The East Rutherford, New Jersey, entertainment and retail destination is developing the attraction with franchise rights holder ScottGames.
“At American Dream, we live and breathe fandom. We’ve imagined what a Five Nights at Freddy’s experience could become for years, and the work our team has done in collaboration with ScottGames has exceeded every expectation,” said Josh Berdugo, Senior Vice President of Licensing and Location-Based Entertainment at American Dream and Triple Five Group. “This is shaping up to be unlike anything we’ve ever created before, and we can’t wait for fans to experience it.”
Rather than build a themed restaurant around the property, the team plans to recreate Freddy Fazbear’s Pizza as fans know it.
Visitors will dine in a quick-service restaurant, hit the arcade, and catch two animatronic shows. Freddy and the Fazbear Band will take the Main Stage, while Foxy the Pirate gets his own setup in Pirate Cove.
American Dream also plans multiplayer experiences inspired by the survival horror gameplay that made Five Nights at Freddy’s a global phenomenon, adding an interactive layer beyond food and entertainment.
“The only way this experience succeeds is if it’s created by a team that knows Five Nights at Freddy’s inside and out,” said Atreyu Alcantar, Creative Manager, Licensing & Location-Based Entertainment at American Dream and Creative Lead for the attraction. “The animatronic show has to be authentic. The food has to be high-quality. And above all else, we’re not building a set that looks like Freddy Fazbear’s Pizza — we’re building Freddy Fazbear’s Pizza. This experience will immerse longtime fans in the world they’ve imagined for years while welcoming an entirely new audience to discover it for the first time.”
The project adds another major location-based extension to the Five Nights at Freddy’s franchise as entertainment companies continue to turn fan-favorite IPs into places consumers can physically enter.
Striker Entertainment manages the Five Nights at Freddy’s (FNAF) IP for ScottGames. Over the past 12 years, FNAF has grown through games, publishing, toys, collectibles, and experiences. Last year, a FNAF attraction opened as part of Universal’s Halloween Horror Nights, and Jazwares’ growing toy collection continues to expand at retail. Earlier this month, a Spirit Halloween exclusive Freddy Fazbear animatronic went on sale, sparking a secondary-market frenzy, with prices topping $3,000 for the $500 item.
A formal opening date for Freddy Fazbear’s Pizza has not yet been revealed.
