Amazon Luna and Mattel are expanding the Masters of the Universe franchise into interactive entertainment with Masters of the Universe: Legends Unite, a new game debuting June 5.
Launching the same day as the upcoming Masters of the Universe theatrical film from Amazon MGM Studios, Masters of the Universe: Legends Unite will be available to Prime members at no additional cost via Luna’s GameNight platform.
Designed as a “couch co-op” experience, Legends Unite blends roguelike deck-building mechanics with arcade-style mini-games. Players can team up or compete as they navigate evolving challenges, collect cards, and battle enemies across multiple playthroughs.
The game introduces a mix of classic and new characters, tasking players with defending Castle Grayskull against Hordak and his forces. Each session offers variable gameplay through changing biomes, cooperative strategy, and competitive trials.
Part of Luna’s GameNight lineup, the title lets players use smartphones as controllers, lowering barriers to entry and enabling group play without dedicated hardware.
The launch reflects Mattel’s broader strategy to extend its IP into digital formats while aligning major content releases across platforms.
