CAMP Chicago

A Chicago CAMP location has been in the works for years, and now it’s finally happening.

This summer, CAMP is opening its first shop-and-play retail experience in the Chicagoland area with a 7,500-square-foot destination in the Lincoln Park neighborhood. Described as “part toy store, part party venue, part immersive theater space,” CAMP Chicago features a “Canteen” retail space alongside the location’s first “Magic Door” experience: Doodles x CAMP.

The 2,000-square-foot Canteen opened its doors to guests today and will be followed by the full Doodles x CAMP experience beginning August 19.

The colorful, playful, and visual world of Doodles fits perfectly at CAMP. It’s been amazing collaborating with their team on this new immersive experience that lets people interact with Doodles in real life. I can’t wait to see Chicago families building memories together at this massive experience within CAMP’s newest location. It’s going to be great.”

The Doodles x CAMP experience invites families to explore tunnels and mushroom-filled Lost Caves, as kids zip down a rainbow slide and emerge in fluffy pink Cosmic Clouds. Families can also do arts and crafts under 12-foot-tall daisies in the Flower Forest, jam on interactive synth noisemakers and play alien arcade games in the Mothership, and create Doodles characters in Rainbow Valley.

“The incredible team at CAMP helped us bring new meaning to the bridge between physical and digital [play],” says Doodles CEO Julian Holguin. “And through this experience, attendees will immerse themselves in the colorful world of Doodles. Get the whole family ready to meet our characters and have some fun!”

CAMP promises an exclusive range of co-branded apparel and accessories and is planning nighttime events for grown-ups only.

Following its limited engagement in Chicago, the Doodles x CAMP experience will move to another CAMP location and the Chicago store will take on another theme.
