
Numerous deals for toyetic entertainment properties are being made at MIPCOM.
Canadian children’s entertainment company Guru Studio inked several new broadcast deals for Big Blue, Pikwik Pack, and True and the Rainbow Kingdom at the annual market in France.
“We’re seeing tremendous enthusiasm from broadcasters for our lineup of originals,” says Corey Caplan, senior director of international sales at Guru Studio.
Big Blue currently airs on the CBC Kids in Canada, Nickelodeon in the United Kingdom, and on Cartoon Network in South Africa. The new deals will bring the show to Spain, South Korea, Portugal, and the Middle East.
Guru Studio also made deals for Pikwik Pack in the UK, Italy, Singapore, Ireland, Finland, Taiwan, Brazil, Spain, Portugal, the Middle East, and the Baltics (Latvia, Lithuania, Estonia).
The company made deals in South Korea, Turkey, the Philippines for True and the Rainbow Kingdom, a top-5 rated kids show in the UK that is launching a toy line with Bandai UK and United Smile.
Additionally, the company acquired the animated show 123 Number Squad! from Omen Studios. 123 Number Squad! is scheduled to debut next year on Sky Kids and NOW in the UK.
