Hasbro Entertainment is moving two major brands deeper into film and television.
Netflix greenlit a Monopoly reality competition series from Studio Lambert, the production company behind The Traitors and Squid Game: The Challenge. Casting is underway ahead of a planned 2027 debut.
The project will translate the board game’s deal-making, property-building, and competitive play into an unscripted format for the streaming platform.
It’s also officially official that Paramount Pictures is advancing its next G.I. Joe feature film. Danny McBride (The Righteous Gemstones, Eastbound & Down) will direct the project from his own screenplay. While the studio has not revealed plot or casting details, McBride said in a recent interview that the story may connect to 1980s G.I. Joe: A Real American Hero lore, using the Cobra stronghold of Springfield as a backdrop.
Together, the projects reflect Hasbro Entertainment’s broader strategy of extending games and toy brands through partnerships with major studios, producers, and streaming services.
The company’s development slate also includes projects based on Clue, Magic: The Gathering, Dungeons & Dragons, Power Rangers, and My Little Pony.
Hasbro will reveal its Q2 2026 earnings on July 21, while a strong wave of new G.I. Joe products will be unveiled at Comic-Con International: San Diego (SDCC) next week.
