The Hot Wheels Legends Tour is on the road again. Mattel and Mobil 1 have officially opened submissions for the ninth annual traveling car show, allowing car enthusiasts to showcase their custom builds on the world’s stage and compete for the ultimate crown: to immortalize their design as a 1:64-scale Hot Wheels vehicle.

The 2026 Hot Wheels Legends Tour kicks off with a live event April 25 in Tampa, Florida, soon followed by virtual and in-person stops in 20 countries worldwide, including Canada, Italy, Mexico, Brazil, Chile, Peru, Turkey, and Colombia, as well as events across the Asia-Pacific region, including a new stop in Indonesia.

The tour is split into four regional finals: Europe, Latin America, the U.S., and, new to this year, Asia-Pacific. The winner of each region will compete in the Global Grand Finale this November, where the design with the most authenticity, creativity, and garage spirit will be inducted into Hot Wheels’ coveted Garage of Legends and recreated as a die-cast vehicle.

In addition to Mobil 1, this year’s contest also welcomes a new partner, Arizona Beverage Company. The company incorporates its drinks into each tour stop, offering sample sessions, licensed products, and even an Arizona-branded car build.

At the U.S. tour dates, visitors can get up close and personal with life-sized Hot Wheels cars, including a custom Formula 1 car with Hot Wheels liveries, an iconic Fast & Furious vehicle for the franchise’s 25th anniversary, and a Skeletor-themed Hot Wheels Bone Shaker, in honor of Mattel’s upcoming Masters of the Universe film. Other event highlights include play spaces for kids, premium collector-car displays, and special-edition Hot Wheels Legends toys available only at the 2026 tour.

“With 20 countries on this year’s schedule and new partners joining us in 2026, we’re putting the pedal down and making this our biggest Hot Wheels Legends Tour yet for builders and fans around the world,” said Ted Wu, SVP of Hot Wheels and Global Head of Vehicles and Building Sets at Mattel. “Now in our ninth year, the Hot Wheels Legends Tour continues to fuel car culture across continents, throwing down a challenge to builders everywhere. And every year, they answer loud and clear: challenge accepted. With fearless creativity, boundary-breaking craftsmanship, and uncompromising passion, they push limits, break rules, and transform extraordinary custom builds into the next iconic die-cast legend.”

Submissions for the 2026 Hot Wheels Legends Tour are open now. Car builders can enter their designs, register for the event, and find the tour’s full schedule at mattel.com/hotwheelslegendstour.
