Miraculous is officially making the leap to live-action.
Mediawan companies See-Saw Films and Miraculous Corp are joining forces to develop and produce the first live-action television adaptation of Miraculous: Tales of Ladybug & Cat Noir. The new series will introduce Marinette and Adrien’s superhero adventures to a broader, older audience while offering longtime fans a fresh take on the cult-favorite animated series.
Emme Hoy is signed on to write and executive-produce the adaptation, following her recent work on major television projects like Sweetpea, Honey, and Renegade Nell. She joins executive producers Maria Nicholson, Iain Canning, Emile Sherman, Simon Gillis, and Ben Irving, with Nicky Earnshaw serving as co-producer. Global sales will be handled by Mediawan Rights.
“Miraculous has always been, at its heart, a story about the distance between who we are and who we let people see,” says Nicholson. “Live action gives us the space to really feel that — to let it breathe, to let it hurt. At See-Saw, we’re aiming to build something with the emotional intimacy of a great romance and the scale of a genuinely epic superhero story. I think audiences are going to fall in love with these characters all over again.”
Meanwhile, the original Miraculous: Tales of Ladybug & Cat Noir continues to enchant audiences of all ages in more than 150 countries worldwide. The first six seasons of the animated series are currently airing on major networks and streaming platforms like Disney+, Netflix, and Disney Channel, with season seven slated to debut in late 2026.
Additional details about the live-action series, including casting news and a premiere date, will be announced at a later date. To learn more, visit miraculous.com.
