Star Wars, Yahoo Games, Miraculous and Nintendo Expand the Gaming Landscape

The latest gaming news spans several platforms and play styles, with Star Wars: Galactic Racer arriving on Amazon Luna, while Yahoo Games adds its second original title since relaunching with Yahoo Blackjack Blitz. Miraculous expands into screen-free voice gaming through a new partnership with Mallow, and Nex spotlights its Wrexham AFC partnership in a campaign featuring Rob McElhenney and Ryan Reynolds. Star Wars: Galactic Racer has launched on Amazon Luna alongside its worldwide release, bringing high-speed racing across iconic and new Star Wars environments. Developed by Fuse Games, the game puts players behind the controls of multiple repulsorcraft as Shade, a lone racer competing in the underground Galactic League during the early New Republic era. Players can choose from landspeeders, speeder bikes, the new skim speeder, and podracers, with each vehicle offering distinct handling and racing styles across tracks on locations including Jakku, Ando Prime, and Sentinel I.

The runs-based racing adventure features a single-player campaign where players select routes and events, build their racing setups, and unlock upgrades, alongside Arcade and Scenarios modes offering shorter races and unique challenges. Fan-favorite Star Wars character Sebulba also returns as a rival racer. The game is available on Amazon Luna for Prime members in eligible regions, with the single-player campaign available at no additional cost.

Yahoo Games has launched Yahoo Blackjack Blitz, a new original title that puts a twist on the classic card game. Instead of chips, dealers, and bets, players are dealt one card at a time and choose which of four lanes to play it in as they try to hit exactly 21. Busting a lane makes that hand unplayable, but scoring 21 in another lane repairs broken lanes, allowing players to continue their run. Each day features fresh starting hands, while players can string together multiple 21s to increase their score multiplier.

Yahoo Blackjack Blitz is the platform’s second original game since its relaunch in January, following Yahoo Solitaire Roadtrip. The game is available on desktop and mobile with no download required, and players can start a game today. Yahoo Games has launched eight new titles since its relaunch, while daily active users have grown by more than 60% and gameplay clicks have increased by nearly 25% in the six months following the relaunch.

Miraculous Corp has partnered with Mallow to bring the Miraculous franchise to the screen-free voice gaming platform for children ages 4 and up. 

Available in France with a U.S. rollout planned for the coming year, Mallow uses voice as the controller, allowing children to talk to characters, make choices, solve challenges, and influence gameplay. Children place a character figurine on the Mallow speaker to unlock an interactive game universe, with generative voice technology allowing games to respond dynamically to what children say. The platform’s experiences are designed around skills including language, executive functions, and social-emotional development.

For Miraculous, Mallow has created Ladybug and the Lost Emotions of Paris, an interactive adventure in which children join Ladybug and Duusu, the Kwami of Emotion, to help restore emotional balance across Paris by identifying feelings, interpreting clues, and helping characters understand their emotions. 

Mallow’s library offers interactive adventures, mini-games, quizzes, and other voice-led experiences, with each figurine unlocking a complete game universe. The Mallow speaker and first five figurines are available in France with one figure included. Additional figures are available for purchase and no subscription is required.

Nex has debuted a new campaign starring Rob McElhenney and Ryan Reynolds, marking the duo’s first appearance for Nex since the company announced its partnership with Wrexham AFC earlier this year. 

Created in collaboration with Maximum Effort, the spot features McElhenney and Reynolds in their roles as Wrexham AFC co-chairmen conducting a mock player interview with Wrexham players Josh Windass and Ben Sheaf, only to discover an unexpected young recruit: a star Nex Playground player. The campaign highlights Nex’s growing connection to sports and entertainment and arrives ahead of Sonic Forces joining Nex Playground’s Play Pass Oct. 7.

Nintendo brings new releases and updates to Nintendo Switch 2 and Nintendo Switch, including Minecraft Dungeons II, an action RPG adventure featuring high-stakes encounters, challenges, and new locations, and The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt — Remastered, which adds visual, performance, and gameplay enhancements to the acclaimed RPG on Nintendo Switch 2.

The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt — Remastered is available now, with physical and digital Nintendo Switch owners eligible for a free upgrade, while its paid Songs of the Past expansion is available to wishlist ahead of its 2027 release. 

Nintendo is also spotlighting Xenoblade Chronicles: Definitive Edition — Nintendo Switch 2 Edition and Xenoblade Chronicles 2 — Nintendo Switch 2 Edition ahead of the Dec. 3 launch of Xenoblade Chronicles 3 — Nintendo Switch 2 Edition. Both Xenoblade titles are available now, alongside a range of additional games arriving on Nintendo eShop this week.
