The LEGO Group is known for sets that target the kidult market, with everything from an Indiana Jones Temple of the Golden Idol set, a Hokusai – The Great Wave art set, and an A-Frame Cabin, the company has a wide portfolio of construction sets designed specifically for those 18 and up. Now, LEGO is releasing a new set designed for adults with the artistically minimalist Tales of the Space Age set.

The new set is designed by LEGO fan designer Jan Woźnica, an IT professional. It’s a part of LEGO Ideas, a website that gives users the opportunity to submit their own set concepts that then get the chance to become available as LEGO products. “Outer space is awesome! I love exploring new worlds imagined by great creators,” says fan designer Jan Woźnica.

The Tales of the Space Age set features a style inspired by classic sci-fi posters from the ‘80s. It includes four postcard-sized decorative pieces that can be displayed together or separately. It’s also advertised as a potential group activity as each individual 3D postcard has its own instruction booklet. The set features 688 pieces and will retail for $49.99.

The new space-themed set releases May 8, 2023, and follows many other LEGO Ideas sets brought to production by the company. The longstanding culture of interaction between LEGO and its adult fans is likely part of the company’s status as the most reputable company according to Global RepTrak’s report.
