Leading global entertainment company Spin Master announces its 2025 trends shaping playtime this year. Spin Master presents its five top trends and the toys that align with them.
1. Transformagination
Transformation and imagination come together with these toys designed to celebrate the unexpected. Kids are captivated by shape-shifting objects and magical surprises. Examples of this trend include Spin Master’s Kinetic Sand Splash Starter Case, the Monster Jam Smash & Bash 1:15 GraveDigger RC, and the Stack’d Heishi Bracelet Studio.
2. Star of the Show
Storytelling and imaginative play go hand in hand. Kids engaging with heroes, iconic characters, or imaginative creatures fully immerse themselves in these captivating experiences. Spin Master’s Dance with Me Dora, Jurassic World Bitzee, and How to Train Your Dragon Ultimate Plasma Blast Toothless are excellent examples of this trend.
3. Play with Pay Off
Toys that teach valuable essential skills while providing the enjoyment of pure play are highly sought after this year. Learning through play is becoming increasingly popular. Examples of this trend from Spin Master include Ms. Rachel’s Potty Time with Bean Bear, the Melissa & Doug Blockcables Town Play Set, and the Rubik’s Cube Pulse Cube.
4. Micro-Moments
Slipping between the major holidays, numerous simple days of celebration are worth recognizing. Retail and toy companies can take advantage of these smaller occasions by embracing them and offering special items to interested fans. Examples of such days include National Unicorn Day (April 9), International Harry Potter Day (May 2), and Batman Day (September 20). People love having an excuse to celebrate and purchase their favorite toys.
5. Appetite for Fun
Snack-inspired toys are becoming a major trend. Although kids often hear they shouldn’t play with their food, this trend offers a fun exception to that rule. Examples include Spin Master’s Kinetic Sand Squish Pizza Playset, Cheeky Chonks Plush toys, and Melissa & Doug’s Water WOW! Scented Fruit and Treats activity.
