It’s officially September, and that means The Toy Book is hitting the rewind button and taking a look back at some of the hottest stories of August 2023, as chosen by you, the readers.

Despite launching toward the end of the month, our Playbill-sized Toy of the Year (TOTY) Awards Special Edition dominated in terms of pure traffic as the toy industry looks forward to The Toy Foundation’s annual gala on Sept. 29. Somehow, after nine months, the story about Basic Fun! taking the lead to relaunch Hasbro’s Littlest Pet Shop (Nov. ’22) continues to stay in the Top 10, but as always, to secure an official slot within the monthly Top 10, only news and features that were published in August 2023 qualify.
