Do you have a toy, game, or toy-adjacent product that’s shelf-ready and made or assembled in the U.S.? If so, Walmart wants to hear from you.
This week, Walmart began accepting applications for its tenth annual Open Call event, a chance for entrepreneurs and small business owners to apply for the opportunity to pitch their products. Open Call presents an opportunity to support American jobs through the sale of products made, grown, or assembled in the U.S. through Walmart, Sam’s Club, or their websites.
Applications are being accepted through Aug. 18 and the Open Call event will take place Oct. 24-25 during Manufacturing Month.
According to Walmart, more than 85% of its customers have stated that it is important for retailers to carry goods made in the U.S.
Through the Open Call initiative, the company continues its 10-year, $350 billion commitment to investing in and strengthening the U.S. manufacturing industry by sourcing products domestically.
Additionally, the retail giant is hosting its first-ever Walmart: Made Local trailer tour. The tour began on July 10 in Frederick, Maryland, and has additional stops planned for Chicago, Cleveland, Indianapolis, and Philadelphia. Small business owners are invited to visit the trailer to record an on-the-spot video to apply for Open Call 2023. Suppliers who scored deals at previous Open Call events will be present to answer questions.
